Street Support KC provides homeless outreach services on the first Saturday of each month in downtown Kansas City. Volunteer spots are limited and coordinated through email sign-ups. Please join the email list below to receive upcoming opportunities.
About Our Outreach Events
Dates: First Saturday of each month
Time: All events are from 9-10 a.m.
Location: Outside of Downtown Central Library (corner of 10th St. & Baltimore Ave.)
Volunteer Activities: Help set up for the outreach event and hand out blankets, sleeping bags, clothes, hygiene kits, food and other essential items to those in need.
We typically provide assistance to 100+ individuals who are experiencing homelessness at our events. These events serve as a crucial lifeline for many in need, offering basic necessities like food and clothing.

Volunteer spots for outreach events are limited and usually fill within 48-72 hours. All participation is coordinated exclusively through our monthly sign-up emails.

Volunteers primarily distribute essential items, such as hygiene kits, clothing, blankets, and food, to people experiencing homelessness. You’ll also have opportunities to engage in outreach, provide resource information, and offer a listening ear.

No special skills or experience are required! All you need is a compassionate heart and a willingness to help.

The time commitment is approximately one hour. Sometimes the events run a little longer but since we’re first come, first serve a lot of individuals arrive right at 9 a.m.

We welcome volunteers of all ages! We require that volunteers under 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather, as our outreach take place outdoors. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
